Pattern ramblings and such

I hope you ladies had a wonderful weekend-I know I sure did! Anytime you have sewing, fabric and pattern shopping, that is what I call a heck of a time, lol! I hit up the Hancock's sale on Saturday and purchased a few patterns:

M7131, I had to re-buy this pattern in the correct
size, ugh! I had a skinny day that day and thought
I'd arrived,LOL!

M6954  Finally broke down and purchased this one after
seeing how cute it was on someone on PR :)..

M7154, now I have absolutely nowhere in the coming
moment to wear this, but I had to have it,LOL!

V9103, I actually went to Hancock's for this one pattern,
and walked out with several more later, lol! I love this
dress, hopefully I can muslin this one this week.

V9112, I didn't get this one, but I sort of like it!
It's something about it that I think is kind of cool :)..

I also picked up fabric, but of course, and used my $6.00 off coupon, so I was a pretty happy lady! I also made my pretty lady, my mama, a dress for mother's day over the weekend; fingers crossed she receives it this weekend! I'll post it after mother's day, once she receives it.. Life has been crazy busy, but I know that I love sewing, and one must do what they love, right?! I'm going to try to finish up my Burda dress that I've been working on, and get a muslin going for V9103.. Okay, so I'm actually finishing up this post a day later, and have since realized that I do not have suitable lining for V9103, ugh! So I have to decide what dress to make for Mother's day, because I wanted to save my Burda dress for my anniversary next month. I'm thinking about an oldie but goodie,Simplicity 3503, which is out of print, but do maxi's ever go out of style?

Katie, who blogs over at kadiddlehopper made a fabulous
mash-up of this pattern recently..

Well, I am getting ready to go blog cruising, and oooh and ahhhh of over all the lovely creations!
  Have a great week everyone!

~Be blessed and nothin' less  and continue to stay fearlessly fierce!

The jumpsuit that didn't quite make the Christmas party appearance! M7632

Hey guys! So, long time no blog, right? LOL! I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I was finishing up with my Bachelor's degree, in which I finished up in October, thank you, Jesus!  I'm gearing up for starting on my Master's soon.

Well, let's jump into what this blog is really about, which is M7632. I absolutely loved this pattern when McCall's first released this pattern, and finally got around to it. This pattern sews up fairly quickly, and with only four pattern pieces makes for a great pattern in this busy mom book. I was hoping to finish this jumpsuit in time for my friendship Christmas party with girls, but alas, that didn't happen, lol.

I wasn't too sure what size to make as I have been on a weight loss journey this year and have lost quite of bit of weight. Although I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight, it's still sometimes hard to see yourself, the new version of yourself. I ended up cutting a size too big in the bodice …

The three pattern dress that took a month to finish:Simplicity 8383

Guys so my sewing mojo has been pretty much non- existent-hence the reason it has taken me over a month to finish the hem of this simple dress,lol..  This dress is Simplicity 8383 and I was so gun-ho  in making this dress, that I went out and purchased the pattern and paid full price, as I couldn't bare to wait the shipping out, then only to take a month to hem said dress that I just had to have :)..

This pattern is very easy. If you have any sewing experience, the instructions would not be of importance to you. The view that I made, view C, has only four pattern pieces:front, back, neck band, and the arm hole binding pattern pieces for the arm holes. I made the 16 and added four inches to the dress and I was still only able to do a tiny hem, so be mindful if you're only the taller end like myself. For the fabric, I used a rayon blend knit fabric that I purchased from a local vendor here in Hawaii some time ago, and I really adore the drape and movement of this fabric.

Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgivin…
