Lazy Saturday Sewing.....

Lazy Saturday Sewing...

It's been such a relaxing day thus far, so I can't complain... I haven't sewn anything in two weeks y'all, but that's not to say that I haven't had the inspiration. I think sometimes for me, I get inspired by so many things that I actually get sewers block. Yeah, sewers block is a real condition y'all lol...

Love this leather baseball tee, but have y'all seen Adrienne's AMAZING!
I think the biggest thing on my mind right now is LEATHER, I mean it is so heavy in the streets right now.. You don't have to go very far for inspiration for it either... It is everywhere, and I am lovin' it!  I've been hoarding 2 yards of faux leather, just waiting for the right project. I did cut out a peplum today, V8936; so hopefully I can review that soon.. I will get to that baseball tee, because I am jonesing for one of those tops.... Well, ladies I just wanted to share what I was working on this weekend.. You ladies have a wonderful weekend, as always: Be blessed and nothin' less and continue to stay fearlessly fierce..

  2. I'm the same way with too much inspiration (although I do love it) it paralyzes me because I can't make up my mind. What pattern do you plan on using for the baseball tee?

The three pattern dress that took a month to finish:Simplicity 8383

Guys so my sewing mojo has been pretty much non- existent-hence the reason it has taken me over a month to finish the hem of this simple dress,lol..  This dress is Simplicity 8383 and I was so gun-ho  in making this dress, that I went out and purchased the pattern and paid full price, as I couldn't bare to wait the shipping out, then only to take a month to hem said dress that I just had to have :)..

This pattern is very easy. If you have any sewing experience, the instructions would not be of importance to you. The view that I made, view C, has only four pattern pieces:front, back, neck band, and the arm hole binding pattern pieces for the arm holes. I made the 16 and added four inches to the dress and I was still only able to do a tiny hem, so be mindful if you're only the taller end like myself. For the fabric, I used a rayon blend knit fabric that I purchased from a local vendor here in Hawaii some time ago, and I really adore the drape and movement of this fabric.

The jumpsuit that didn't quite make the Christmas party appearance! M7632

Hey guys! So, long time no blog, right? LOL! I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I was finishing up with my Bachelor's degree, in which I finished up in October, thank you, Jesus!  I'm gearing up for starting on my Master's soon.

Well, let's jump into what this blog is really about, which is M7632. I absolutely loved this pattern when McCall's first released this pattern, and finally got around to it. This pattern sews up fairly quickly, and with only four pattern pieces makes for a great pattern in this busy mom book. I was hoping to finish this jumpsuit in time for my friendship Christmas party with girls, but alas, that didn't happen, lol.

I wasn't too sure what size to make as I have been on a weight loss journey this year and have lost quite of bit of weight. Although I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight, it's still sometimes hard to see yourself, the new version of yourself. I ended up cutting a size too big in the bodice …

Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgivin…
