A little this and little of that!

I am really feeling my mojo right now, like it's seriously in overdrive! Last night I went to Jo-Ann's to pick up a few new patterns that happen to be on sale, yay! I picked up:

M6606 I just had to have this pattern, seen a similar top at
NY and company

M6653

M6658 kinda got this one on accident, but nonetheless I
shall make it work!

M6613  Kinda told my husband that I would make him
a shirt...This is a unisex pattern..

I really went to the fabric store for this pattern, but you know
how that goes...I simply love this jacket, I love the
cut of it, it's so trendy...New Look 6013

I'm just about finished with M6611, only have the hand- stitching left to do, ugh, how I loathe hand stitching lol.. Now, I need to narrow down my skirt choices for Faye's carnival of skirts sew- along and pick fabric for said skirt. Now if every thing could this simple, right?..I would post my choices, but I just haven't  gotten that far.. I plan by the weekend to have the fabric picked out for my skirt and of course a pattern, we shall see! Well ladies, I hope you are having a wonderful day, it's hump day, yay! As always, Be blessed and nothin' less and continue to stay fearlessly fierce!

  1. Hi. Love your blog. I sewed up M6658, the short sleeve crew neck, and it is really nice. It seemed it did run a little small so just wanted you to know. I used a 2-way stretch jersey, black and white stripe, as the top part of a maxi dress. You will like it, just adjust a little for the size. You sew amazing for a 4-year seamstress. Our style is so much alike so I will be keeping an eye on your girlie! Keep up the fantastic work. Your white sister, Donna

The three pattern dress that took a month to finish:Simplicity 8383

Guys so my sewing mojo has been pretty much non- existent-hence the reason it has taken me over a month to finish the hem of this simple dress,lol..  This dress is Simplicity 8383 and I was so gun-ho  in making this dress, that I went out and purchased the pattern and paid full price, as I couldn't bare to wait the shipping out, then only to take a month to hem said dress that I just had to have :)..

This pattern is very easy. If you have any sewing experience, the instructions would not be of importance to you. The view that I made, view C, has only four pattern pieces:front, back, neck band, and the arm hole binding pattern pieces for the arm holes. I made the 16 and added four inches to the dress and I was still only able to do a tiny hem, so be mindful if you're only the taller end like myself. For the fabric, I used a rayon blend knit fabric that I purchased from a local vendor here in Hawaii some time ago, and I really adore the drape and movement of this fabric.

The jumpsuit that didn't quite make the Christmas party appearance! M7632

Hey guys! So, long time no blog, right? LOL! I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I was finishing up with my Bachelor's degree, in which I finished up in October, thank you, Jesus!  I'm gearing up for starting on my Master's soon.

Well, let's jump into what this blog is really about, which is M7632. I absolutely loved this pattern when McCall's first released this pattern, and finally got around to it. This pattern sews up fairly quickly, and with only four pattern pieces makes for a great pattern in this busy mom book. I was hoping to finish this jumpsuit in time for my friendship Christmas party with girls, but alas, that didn't happen, lol.

I wasn't too sure what size to make as I have been on a weight loss journey this year and have lost quite of bit of weight. Although I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight, it's still sometimes hard to see yourself, the new version of yourself. I ended up cutting a size too big in the bodice …

Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgivin…
