The sewing mojo is slowly coming back!

Well, the sewing mojo is finally creeping back slowly but surely.. I have completed M6164, well everything but the hem that is. I also have knocked out B4789 minus the hem, which was a joy to work on! I think it may have even helped in bringing back my sewing mojo.. So, now I have my Thanksgiving dress completed woo hoo! I am so thankful, because just this time last year I wanted to wear my new dress that I had sewn V1027 (which I need to redo BTW) However, I had butchered the hem beyond recognition :(

I am trying to play catch up and get back into my sewing and blogging groove, because I really do love the sewing community... I have two garments on my dress form (Bella) at the moment B4789 and M6164 lol..

I need to hem the sleeves of the dress B4789 and hem
the neck line for M6164 what joy lol! Oh, and this is before
I sewed the front of the dress to the back hence the pins holding
the dress to the dress form :)

In other news, my hubby's Naval command Christmas party is coming up, and so that means a new dress is in order. I just have to sew one! Especially, since the hubby had his suit made in Korea when the ship was there this year... I was originally planning to make V8574  ,but realized that I did not have the right length zipper in the color that I needed, nor did I have time to order one*sigh*....So, then I had to think fast to what patterns I had in stash that would accommodate the fabric that had already been purchased a few months ago... That was not an easy task I tell ya!

Okay, so I narrowed down the patterns to:

I really love this dress, but
the hubby didn't see the vision! I
should have probably showed him the fierceness!
I was thinking about view c with the three quarter sleeves!

I love this dress it's flirty without being over the top
and I saw another blogger post about this dress and
her version is absolutely positively gorgeous!

And I think we have a winner!!!!! I think I am going to
try view  E ( the white dress) or F (the pink dress) they are the same dress, however F is just
shorter in length..

I have the pattern cut out and the fabric and  lining are in the wash on delicate as I type!I would post a pic of the fabric, but I want to keep some kind of the suspense right :) I have a little over two weeks to get this dress completed Divas! I'll keep you Divas updated and hopefully I will have beautiful dress to show you! Alright, Divas talk with you later on in the week. I should have photos of the M6164 and B4789 completed! As always be blessed and nothin' less and continue to stay fearlessly fierce!~Candice~

The jumpsuit that didn't quite make the Christmas party appearance! M7632

Hey guys! So, long time no blog, right? LOL! I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I was finishing up with my Bachelor's degree, in which I finished up in October, thank you, Jesus!  I'm gearing up for starting on my Master's soon.

Well, let's jump into what this blog is really about, which is M7632. I absolutely loved this pattern when McCall's first released this pattern, and finally got around to it. This pattern sews up fairly quickly, and with only four pattern pieces makes for a great pattern in this busy mom book. I was hoping to finish this jumpsuit in time for my friendship Christmas party with girls, but alas, that didn't happen, lol.

I wasn't too sure what size to make as I have been on a weight loss journey this year and have lost quite of bit of weight. Although I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight, it's still sometimes hard to see yourself, the new version of yourself. I ended up cutting a size too big in the bodice …

The three pattern dress that took a month to finish:Simplicity 8383

Guys so my sewing mojo has been pretty much non- existent-hence the reason it has taken me over a month to finish the hem of this simple dress,lol..  This dress is Simplicity 8383 and I was so gun-ho  in making this dress, that I went out and purchased the pattern and paid full price, as I couldn't bare to wait the shipping out, then only to take a month to hem said dress that I just had to have :)..

This pattern is very easy. If you have any sewing experience, the instructions would not be of importance to you. The view that I made, view C, has only four pattern pieces:front, back, neck band, and the arm hole binding pattern pieces for the arm holes. I made the 16 and added four inches to the dress and I was still only able to do a tiny hem, so be mindful if you're only the taller end like myself. For the fabric, I used a rayon blend knit fabric that I purchased from a local vendor here in Hawaii some time ago, and I really adore the drape and movement of this fabric.

Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgivin…
