I am still here!

Okay, so I should be working on garments from my ever growing fall list, but I just haven't had the energy to do sew:) I have managed enough energy to sew up a quick project M6164, which is OOP now!  I really like this top, and it almost reminds me of B5562, which I have reviewed here and here.. I will have to say out of the two, that M6164 is my favorite! Hopefully I will have pictures sometime this coming week!

I did also manage to sew up this weekend the infamous V1250 that everyone raved about and is still raving about..This was my second go at this dress and sadly to say: I didn't feel the magic, so I chunked the dress, and the pattern in the trash... I was hoping to love this dress, as everyone else looked wonderful in their dresses! I mean from the maxi versions, sleeves, top version, every remix of V1250 was fabulous!

So not to get upset with the V1250 not being the dress for me, I decided to cut out B4789 it's an oldie but looks like it will yield a great dress nonetheless. I am hoping this will be my Thanksgiving dress, so the rate that my sewing is going these days. I better get a head start now lol gotta get to sewing Divas!

Here's hoping to a wonderful sewing week for all you Divas!!!!  Divas as always be blessed and nothin' less and continue to stay fearlessly fierce!

  1. Can't wait to see your Thanksgiving dress all sew up! I haven't sewn much either and with the holidays coming up, I'm not likely to get much done.

  2. I hate to say this but I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't have suggess with this pattern. There is just too much fabric in the front for it to look good on me. Glad it didn't sour you on sewing and know that you have plent of fabulous garments in your feature! Don't stay away so long next time!

  3. You know the V1250 is not for everyone and if it didn't work for you that just means there is another pattern out there for you!

  6. Looking forward to your M6164 top and sorry that V1250 didn't work for you. I did not purchase V1250 pattern because I have M6282, but have only made it in the top version.

The three pattern dress that took a month to finish:Simplicity 8383

Guys so my sewing mojo has been pretty much non- existent-hence the reason it has taken me over a month to finish the hem of this simple dress,lol..  This dress is Simplicity 8383 and I was so gun-ho  in making this dress, that I went out and purchased the pattern and paid full price, as I couldn't bare to wait the shipping out, then only to take a month to hem said dress that I just had to have :)..

This pattern is very easy. If you have any sewing experience, the instructions would not be of importance to you. The view that I made, view C, has only four pattern pieces:front, back, neck band, and the arm hole binding pattern pieces for the arm holes. I made the 16 and added four inches to the dress and I was still only able to do a tiny hem, so be mindful if you're only the taller end like myself. For the fabric, I used a rayon blend knit fabric that I purchased from a local vendor here in Hawaii some time ago, and I really adore the drape and movement of this fabric.

The jumpsuit that didn't quite make the Christmas party appearance! M7632

Hey guys! So, long time no blog, right? LOL! I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I was finishing up with my Bachelor's degree, in which I finished up in October, thank you, Jesus!  I'm gearing up for starting on my Master's soon.

Well, let's jump into what this blog is really about, which is M7632. I absolutely loved this pattern when McCall's first released this pattern, and finally got around to it. This pattern sews up fairly quickly, and with only four pattern pieces makes for a great pattern in this busy mom book. I was hoping to finish this jumpsuit in time for my friendship Christmas party with girls, but alas, that didn't happen, lol.

I wasn't too sure what size to make as I have been on a weight loss journey this year and have lost quite of bit of weight. Although I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight, it's still sometimes hard to see yourself, the new version of yourself. I ended up cutting a size too big in the bodice …

Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgivin…
